REVIEW Light sources can reflect (bounce) light from another source, or emit (make their own) light. Does the sun emit light or reflect light? What about the moon?

What can we use to reflect light? What can we use to bend light?

What can we use to reflect light? Light can be reflected through a mirror. What can we use to bend light? Light can bend when it travels from air to water. Curved glass can bend light, like in glasses or a magnifying glass. A prism or water droplet can bend light so that it separates into it's different colors, forming a rainbow.

Can there be a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow?

The real question is, where is the end of a rainbow? A rainbow is actually a full circle, we can only see part of it. To see the entire rainbow, you'd have to be in an airplane very high, looking down on it.

We now know how we can see color, we see it because of light! But how do we use color? Do colors have meaning?

What are the three primary colors and why are they called the primary colors?

What are the three primary colors and why are they called the primary colors?

Are there any colors that mean something special? For example, what color does a bride getting married where? Why does she wear this color?

Are there any colors that mean something special? For example, what color does a bride getting married where? Why does she wear this color? It is said that Queen Victoria started the trend of wearing white, before that, red was worn as a romantic color. It is also said that white symbolizes innocence and purity.

The rising sun is associated with red. This stands for new beginnings, just like a marriage and fertility. (As well as health, happiness, wealth and success) The Indian culture also believe that Mars is the planet associated with marriage and Mars is red.

In Asia, red symbolizes good luck and fortune.

What do you think or feel when you see red? What does it symbolize for you?

What do you think or feel when you see blue? What does it symbolize for you?

What do you think or feel when you see yellow? What does it symbolize for you?

What do you think or feel when you see orange? What does it symbolize for you?

What do you think or feel when you see purple? What does it symbolize for you?

What do you think or feel when you see pink? What does it symbolize for you?

What do you think or feel when you see yellow? What does it symbolize for you?

What do you think or feel when you see brown? What does it symbolize for you?

Favorite s in the Classroom

So what does the color mean? Black. People who choose black as their favorite color are often artistic and sensitive. While these people aren't introverts, they are careful with the details of their lives and do not share easily with others. White. People who like white are often organized and logical and don't have a great deal of clutter in their lives. Red. Those who love red live life to the fullest and are tenacious and determined in their endeavors. Blue. If blue is your favorite color you love harmony, are reliable, sensitive and always make an effort to think of others. You like to keep things clean and tidy and feel that stability is the most important aspect in life. Green. Those who love the color green are often affectionate, loyal and frank. Green lovers are also aware of what others think of them and consider their reputation very important. Yellow. You enjoy learning and sharing your knowledge with others. Finding happiness comes easy to you and others would compare you to sunshine. Purple. You are artistic and unique. You have a great respect for people but at times can be arrogant. Brown. You are a good friend and try your hardest to be reliable and dependable. Flashy objects are not something you desire; you just want a stable life.
