Mercè Morral Cornea and Refractive Surgery Department at the Ocular Microsurgery Institute (IMO) License Number: Curriculum Professional Profile Ophthalmologist specialising in cornea and refractive surgery at the Ocular Microsurgery Institute. She is dedicated to refractive pathologies, cataract surgery and refractive surgery. She is also a specialist in dry eye and ocular surface diseases. She was trained as a subspecialist at the Ocular Microsurgery Institute ( ). She has worked in the UK as a refractive surgeon at the London Vision Clinic ( ) with Dan Z. Reinstein, where she participated in several research projects. She has also been a visiting researcher at international centres, such as the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, attached to the Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, in 2014, with doctors Reza Dana and Pedram Hamrah, and at the Price Vision Group, Indianapolis, USA, in 2007, with Dr Francis Prize.

In 2009, she presented her doctoral thesis cum laude from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), based on her research work on phakic lenses carried out at the IMO and published in several high-impact journals (Ophthalmology and Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery) under the title: Lentes intraoculares para ojo fáquico de sujeción iridiana para la corrección de defectos refractivos (Intraocular lenses for the phakic eye with iris fixation for correction of refractive errors). Master s course in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the IMO, attached to the Faculty of Medicine at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona ( ).
