I did my Super Speciality Training, M.Ch. (Vascular Surgery) in Madras Medical College, Perhaps the only institute in the whole country recognized by the Medical Council of India. As a Resident Post-Graduate and Subsequently as Assistant Professor under Professor S.A. Hussain, M.S., M.Ch., F.I.C.S. who was the president of the Asian Vascular Society, I have gained good confidence in doing surgeries for : a) Varicose veins, varicose ulcers, b) Lumbar sympathectomies, Embolectomy / Thrombectomy procedures c) Traumatic Vascular Inuries d) Surgery for thoracic outlet obstruction 2

3 e) Major vascular procedures like Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repairs, Aorto-Bifemoral, Aorto-Iliac Bypass surgeries. f) Infra-inguinal, Infra Genicular Bypass, Particularly pedal Bypass procedures for Diabetic Foot cases. g) Carotid surgeries, extra anatomical bypass procedures. h) Spleno-renal shunts, fistulas for AV-Access. i) Vascular pedicle access during surgery for limb preservation in Bone Tumors (Implant Surgery) j) Vascular Anastomosis for Renal transplants Part of Transplant Team KEY ACHIEVEMENTS / SKILLS As a consultant vascular surgeon and diabetic foot specialist at.m.v. Diabetes & Research Centre, Royapuram and RIGID, life line group of Hospitals, Kilpauk involved in the early diagnosis and vascular interventions in the form of peripheral bypass procedures as well as intervention (Endovascular) procedures like angioplasties in collaboration with interventionists, resulting in Good Foot Salvage and instrumental in bringing down the number of unnecessary amputations. Part of Trauma Team, in the management of Vascular Trauma Particularly at madras medical college, one of the most busiest tertiary referral centre. 3
