This informal mentoring covered experimental design for sleep and sleep deprivation study designs, polysomnography data acquisition, cognitive testing administration, cognitive and neuroimaging behavioral analysis methods, scientific writing, and presentation of data at conferences. Postgraduate - As a postdoctoral fellow, through individual meetings, journal clubs, training workshops, independent student projects, and an undergraduate honor's thesis project, I helped mentor over 30 undergraduate students, over a dozen advanced high school students, several PhD students, and a few postdoctoral fellows. This informal mentoring covered reviewing scientific papers, experimental design, sleep, cognitive, and neuroimaging data acquisition and analysis, sleep staging, spectral analysis, statistical analysis, scientific and grant writing, and presentation of data at conferences.
