12 Health Promotion Act Since 1990 s Korea government tried to reduce eff ects of second hand tobacco smoke in public s paces and Health Promotion Act was enacted in 1995.
13 Health Promotion Act In early days Health Promotion Act prohibited smok ing in some public spaces like hospitals, schools ho tels, big buildings including work place and big the aters. But those facilities were not fully designated as sm oke - free facilities but some part were designa ted as smoke-free area.
14 Health Promotion Act Recently smoke-free areas were enlarged in Kore a as the fruits of the government and civil society s great efforts. According to the recent revision of Health Prom otion Act, 26 facilities were designated as smoke-fr ee areas from 16 facilities.
15 Health Promotion Act Newly designated places were national asse mbly buildings, government buildings, court hous es, public buildings, restaurants and so on.
