To foster debate and exploration within the Harrisonburg community. To work for a world in which drug policies are not motivated outside interest but rather the Constitution. To foster debate in favor of viable alternatives to existing drug policies.

3 Why End the War on Drugs? Prohibition doesn t work Abstinence only education will always fail Disproportionately affects disenfranchised people Creating a business for criminal activity Drug use, in itself, is a victimless crime

6 Psychedelic Research Studies are being conducted showing the medicinal use of psilocybin to treat depression, MDMA to treat PTSD LSD microdosing has been known to be used by people to improve productivity LSD and psilocybin could repair damaged brains Use of psychedelics linked with increased neural plasticity

7 Criminal Justice Reform Restorative justice Tackling the racism behind drug laws Blacks and whites sell and use drugs at the same rate but black people are many times more likely to be arrested for it Working to end mass incarceration The US holds the most prisoners of any country by far, and 80% of them are black or latino

8 Harm Reduction Working to stopping overdoses from opioids and opiates Teaching people how to safely test and take drugs Good samaritan policies Needle exchanges

9 Legal Education Education about JMU s Drug Policies Making sure you guys know how to talk to police (don't), how the criminal justice system works just in case Keeping you in touch with criminal defense lawyers and resources in case of legal or disciplinary trouble Keeping you up to date about changing laws Teaching you how cops think, how to spots rats, and insight behind criminology
