FIRST AID MEASURES Eye Skin Ingestion Note to Physician Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for minutes. Water spray jet, Foam, Dry powder, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Sand Firefighters should wear NIOSH/MSHA approved self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. Dike area to prevent runoff and contamination of water sources. SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES General and Disposal Land Spill or Leaks Wear appropriate gear for the situation. See Personal Protection information in Section 8. This material is higly toxic to marine/estuarine invertebrates. Prevent material from entering public sewer system or any waterway. Absorb with an inert absorbent material such as granular clay, saw dust or pet litter. Place in suitable container and seal. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION Engineering Controls Eye/Face Protection Body Protection General Protection When handlers use closed systems, enclosed cabs or aircraft in a manner that meets the requirements listed in the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) for agricultural pesticides [40 CFR (d) (4-6)], the handler PPE requirements may be reduced ro modified as specified in the WPS. Eye contact should be prevented through use of chemical safety glasses with side shields or splash proof goggles. Applicators and other handlers must wear: Long-sleeved shirt and long pants Waterproof gloves Shoes plus socks Discard clothing and other absorbent materials that have been drenched or heavily contaminated with this product's concentrate. Do not reuse them. Follow manufacturer's instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables, use detergent and hot water. Sub-Chronic Toxicity Chronic Toxicity Thiacloprid caused liver effects in subacute and subchronic toxicity studies in rats, mice and dogs. Liver enzyme induction occurred in each species with secondary effects observed in the thyroids of rats and dogs. Major effects from long-term exposure to thiacloprid in rats, mice, and dogs included decreased body weights and changes in feed consumption and clinical chemistries. Secondary effects due to significant liver enzyme induction were observed in the liver, thyroid, adrenals, uterus and ovaries. Assessment Carcinogenicity Evidence of oncogenicity (thyroid and uterus, rats; ovary, mice) was noted in rodents administered thiacloprid. These effects, however, were observed only at high doses that also significantly induced hepatic enzyme activity. At lower doses, which did not affect hepatic enzymes, there was no evidence of Page 4 of 7

5 oncogenicity. ACGIH NTP IARC OSHA Reproductive & Developmental Toxicity REPRODUCTION: Thiacloprid showed no primary reproductive toxic potential in a multigeneration study in rats. Reproductive effects occurred only in conjunction with parental toxicity and included decreases in the live birth index, decreased pup weights, and a possible induced dystocia (difficult labor). DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY: Thiacloprid showed no primary developmental toxic potential in developmental toxicity studies in rats and rabbits. Developmental effects occurred only in conjunction with severe maternal toxicity. Neurotoxicity Thiacloprid showed no neurotoxic potential in acute and subchronic neurotoxicity screening studies in rats. Thiacloprid did not cause any specific neurobehavioral effects in the offspring in a one-generation developmental neurotoxicity. Mutagenicity Thiacloprid had no mutagenic effects in any of the performed mutagenicity tests. SECTION 12.
