25 Drinking Patterns of Korean : Wet & Dry Culture Definition of Korean drinking is wet and dry because Koreans are drinking too much and frequently And 24.6% of Korean drink more than 8 times per month and more than 5 units on one occasion Heavy and binge drinking are increasing from 1997 to 2005 (Male drinkers 18.0% 20.7%; Female drinkers 3.0% 6.7%)

26 Implication Drinking gpatterns of Korean are changing gbecause of the wet and dry drinking culture And alcohol harm from the physical factors of drinking patterns with traditional archetype is increasing But Koreans have a positive attitude and value to the alcoholic beverage and drinking, and positive outcomes And western style of control policy is not working well in Korea HR way of targeted prevention activities for reducing harm is necessary to be enlarged
