5 What is Modulen IBD? 1 Modulen IBD is a nutritionally complete powdered feed, designed to meet the specific nutritional needs of people with Crohn s disease. Modulen IBD contains a naturally occurring anti-inflammatory factor. This may help during the repair phase, after or during a flare up of Crohn s disease. How much Modulen IBD do I need to take? 2 3 Your dietitian will assess how much Modulen IBD you need to take based on your age, activity level and weight. The amount you need to drink will be increased slowly over a few days until you reach the full recommended volume. This will help your body to get used to Modulen IBD. If you are struggling with the volume of Modulen IBD you have been advised to drink, it is very important that you discuss this with your dietitian or healthcare professional (HCP). It is unlikely that you will feel hungry if you are taking the recommended volume of Modulen IBD. However, if you do please contact your dietitian. Remember, whilst taking Modulen IBD, you must not eat or drink anything else apart from water, unless your dietitian has specified otherwise. Can I flavour Modulen IBD? Modulen IBD has a pleasant slight vanilla flavour. Nevertheless, taste fatigue can occur after some time, therefore Modulen IBD can be flavoured using alternative flavour options such as decaffeinated coffee or milk shake mixers, which are found in many shopping outlets throughout the UK and widely available in a variety of flavours. Your dietitian can provide you with more information on alternative ways to flavour Modulen IBD. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 4

Your doctor and dietitian can provide you with further advice on this. 10 How long do I need to use Modulen IBD for?
