2 OVERVIEW CMMB Mission: to work in partnership globally to deliver locally sustainable, quality health solutions to women, children, and their communities. Focus: Women and Children 6.6M children under five years old die per year (75% of all deaths) from 5 preventable diseases INTEGRATED PROGRAMS Health Programs Haiti, Peru, Kenya, Zambia, Medical S.Sudan donation program Volunteer program CHAMPS (Children and Mothers Partnerships) 287,000 women die every year at birth in the developing world. Their families are 55% more likely to experience the loss of a child. HIV is still killing over 740,000 women per year. Increases in cardiovascular, diabetes, breast cancer and cervical cancer make chronic diseases a new epidemic in the developing world. 2

5 OVERVIEW: CHAMPS PROGRAM OBJECTIVES 1. Increase health-seeking awareness, knowledge, and behaviors around five locally identified public health issues. 2. Expand access to health care services. 3. Improve quality of services for women and children in the formal health system. 4. Empower communities to identify, advocate for, and implement programs that improve community health and well-being. 5. Ensure program monitoring and evaluation. 5
