5 U of M School of Dentistry Established in 1888 Educates general dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists, dental specialists, dental educators and dental researchers Nearly 80% of MN active dentists were U of M graduates
6 Project Goal To create academic-community partnerships that will improve the lives of underserved children

Seek to diversify allied dental care providers to reflect the community of underserved children served Recruit URM students and faculty Focus on Minority Faculty development 2. Establish a continuum of comprehensive oral health care for underserved children by establishing a school-based program
8 Objective 1 Diversify Allied Dental Care Providers Recruit URM students and faculty Engaged URM students participating in the Summer Experience program Engaged minority students participating in the Saturday Academy program Engaged current minority SOD students as mentors for pre-professional college and high school students
9 Dental Summer School Experience A two-week, intensive program designed to enhance academic skills and to teach rising undergraduate Juniors and Seniors from disadvantaged backgrounds
10 Summer Dental School Experience Academic Partnership Underrepresented Communities.
11 Saturday Academy A collaboration with the Brian Coyle Center, serving East African immigrants in the Cedar - Riverside neighborhood in Minneapolis Twenty students enrolled 7 are still interested in a dental career 1 Wants to be a DT!
