Feeling Bloated?
You are not alone. Feeling Bloated?
Bloating during pregnancy is a common symptom, that starts around 11 weeks and likely to continue throughout your pregnancy.
H 3C H H 3C H O CH 3 H H O Progesterone is the main cause of excess gas.
Progesterone, the hormone of pregnancy relaxes the smooth muscles throughout your body including the gastrointestinal tract.
As a result, the digestion slows down and the gas builds up causing bloating, burping and flatulence.
In later stage, the growing uterus put more pressure on your abdominal cavity, which can lead to more gas.
How to deal with it?
Cutback on the food that create gas, such as beans, cabbage, cauliflower, peas, etc.
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid constipation which aggravate bloating.
Avoid carbonated drinks and fatty fried foods.
Eat smaller meals throughout the day.
Chew thoroughly while eating because gas is more likely caused by the intestinal bacteria that breakdown the food.
Eat and drink slowly and avoid using straws, which will help you to swallow less air.
Short walk after meals can also help you.
Don t avoid everything from your diet that cause gas. Make sure your baby gets all the nutrients for healthy development.
