Synergy Stress Management Workshop The Synergy Stress Management Workshop is designed to assist executives, managers and staff, achieve optimum physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being What is Stress? Stress reduces our ability to live a full synergistic optimum life Stress impedes thinking, causes illness, destroys relationships and robs us of the joy of life. Stress is a result of our response to the stimulus of life Responses are conscious choices or automatic playbacks from wayback. Playbacks stimulate stress triggers. Triggers hook habitual reactions and stimulate physical, mental, emotional stress symptoms Stressed is Desserts spelled backwards 949/ Chris Alexander maryna@synergyteampower.com SynergyTeamPower.com AlexanderSpeaks.com

Some Examples of Triggers Holidays Noise Special Events Financial issues Birthdays Intimacy Work related issues Crowds Relatives Guild Relationship friction Constant giving Criticism Lack of quality time Negative atmosphere Perfectionism Bossy people Etc., etc., etc. Abusive people What are your triggers? The key is to manage triggers before they manage you! 949/ Chris Alexander maryna@synergyteampower.com SynergyTeamPower.com AlexanderSpeaks.com

Pro-active vs. Reactive Attitude Awareness Action What do you need to be Aware of? What Attitudes will help to reduce stress? What kind of Actions do you need to take to maintain homeostasis? Maintain a healthy balance of mind, body, emotions and spirit. No right thing can come from wrong thinking! 949/ Chris Alexander maryna@synergyteampower.com SynergyTeamPower.com AlexanderSpeaks.com

30 Stress Warning Signals Circle your warning signals 1. Anxiety 16. Substance / alcohol abuse 2. Random nervousness 17. Overeating 3. Forgetful 18. Crying for no reason 4. Cannot have fun 19. Secretive 5. Lack motivation 20. Manipulative 6. Rude and irritable 21. Feeling abandoned 7. Obsessive 22. Insomnia 8. Irrational 23. Sleeping too much 9. Distant 24. Headaches 10. Negative 25. Stomach aches 11. Flaky 26. Lower back pain 12. Over Spending 27. Risky Behavior 13. Aches and pains 28. Inability to laugh 14. Dizzy 29. Critical 15. Hopeless 30. Emotional Outbursts Don t try to cut a tree with a blunt saw. 949/ Chris Alexander maryna@synergyteampower.com SynergyTeamPower.com AlexanderSpeaks.com

Strategies for Inner Peace 1 Exercise privilege of choice. 2 Choose to make inner peace a priority. 3 Change playbacks. 4 Stay in the present moment. 5 Be on purpose. 6 Have goals. 7 Be spiritual- get out of your head. 8 Surround yourself with people, situations and things that make you feel worthwhile. If you don t use it, you lose it! 949/ Chris Alexander maryna@synergyteampower.com SynergyTeamPower.com AlexanderSpeaks.com

14 Proven Stress Reducers 1. Get enough sleep. If necessary, use an alarm clock to remind you to go to bed. 2. Don't rely on your memory write down things like when to pick up the dry cleaning, when reports are due, etc. 3. Don't put up with things that don't work right. If something is a constant aggravation, get it fixed or replaced. 4. Plan ahead don't let the gas tank get below one quarter full, keep a well stocked emergency shelf of supplies at home, in the car, etc Instead of counting to 10, count to 1,000 before doing or saying anything that could make matters worse. Breathe deeply by taking several long, slow, deep breaths to the count of five. When planning your day, be realistic. Allow ample time between appointments so you don't have to rush, worry and apologize for your habitual tardiness. Slow down and enjoy what life has to offer. 7. Just do it!! Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Hard work is simple the accumulation of easy things you didn't do when you should have done them. 949/ Chris Alexander maryna@synergyteampower.com SynergyTeamPower.com AlexanderSpeaks.com

8. Learn to say, "No, thank you" to extra projects that you don't have the time or energy for. 9. Do nothing that, after being done, leads you to tell a lie, or leaves you in a state of regret. 10. Express yourself by positively releasing your thoughts and feelings that are built up inside. Learn how to be assertive so you can say what you feel Eat food that is high in protein in vitamins A, B and C that protect us from the effects of stress. Avoid caffeine, refined sugar, starches and junk foods, which stress the body even more. STOP and think before you act. Unless there is a medical emergency, stop and think before you act. If a project or problem seems overwhelming, take a relaxation break before tackling it again. Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the struggling and tolerant with the weak and erring. For some time in your life, you will experience all of these 14. Get at least 30 minutes of brisk walking or other aerobic exercise daily. 949/ Chris Alexander maryna@synergyteampower.com SynergyTeamPower.com AlexanderSpeaks.com

By joining our experience, knowledge, creativity and abilities, we will cause a much greater positive effect. Synergistically yours, Chris Alexander 949/ Chris Alexander maryna@synergyteampower.com SynergyTeamPower.com AlexanderSpeaks.com
