1 Project Officer - Global Fund HIV Grant Location: [Africa] [Uganda] Town/City: Kampala Category: Health Job Type: Fixed term, Full-time Position: Project Officer - Global Fund HIV Grant Report to: Project Manager Location: Soroti Districts Purpose of the position: World vision Uganda in collaboration with TASO Uganda will implement a global fund HIV grant for 3 years to: 1. improve awareness, access to information and knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention, SRH and rights among adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), 2. Reduce the effect of social-cultural gender and other drivers of the HIV epidemic among AGYW and 3. Support community systems and structures to enable better HIV services delivery and elimination stigma and discrimination in 16 districts of Tororo, Mbale, Bukwo, Apac, Dokolo, Kitgum, Amolatar, Amuru, Pader, Lamwo, Kole, Otuke, Alebtong, Kaberamaido, Serere and Soroti. The project officers will support the project manager to coordinate all project activities at a district level and community level and monitoring progress towards achievement of targets. Key Outputs/Responsibilities. Project Management Plan and support interventions in :

2 Behavioral change as part of programs for adolescent and youth Socioeconomic approaches Gender-based violence prevention and treatment programs for adolescents and youth Community mobilization and norms change Other intervention(s) to reduce human rights-related barriers to HIV services Addressing stigma, discrimination and legal barriers to care for adolescents and youth Keeping girls in school Capacity building of health care providers on human rights and medical ethics related to HIV and HIV/TB Community led advocacy Provide necessary technical guidance to district and community partners during the course of the project Ensure that all HIV grant and other related deliverables are achieved according to DIP Documentation, Monitoring, Reporting, accountability and Evaluation Works with the Project Manager in the preparation of quality project reports Oversee the rollout of the HIV grant data collection process at the community and health facility level

3 Maintains records of activity implementation as approved by the PM Prepares for and participates in project monitoring and evaluations Organizes learning and accountability meeting Prepare Monthly work plans and reports Conduct quality checks of all the monitoring data and ensure filling and entry into specific database. Document lessons learned, promising practices and case studies from the project sites. Networking and collaboration Identify and build district and community strategic linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with actors to support planning and implementation of HIV project activities Effectively engage and Network with district local government structures and any other agencies to promote community ownership and Sustainability of Interventions. Actively participate in relevant district engagements to position World Vision as a strategic partner in malaria programing Finance management Manage any project assets in line with WV and donor policies Support Partners and Sub Grantees to adhere to WV finance and Asset Management policies.

4 Manage and account for allocated monies in line with WV and donor policies Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience Must have a University Degree or its equivalent in Nursing, medicine, public health, Nutrition and social sciences or any related discipline. Working experience of 2 years in working in HIV and AIDS/TB programing Experience in working communities with good knowledge of public health system and structures Understanding the social determinants of health and community dynamics. Knowledge of community based HIV prevention, treatment and management services Strong interpersonal communication, networking and coordination skills. Strong SBCC and advocacy knowledge Good experience in working with the youth Other Competencies/Attributes: Computer literate Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities. Perform other duties as required
