5 Our Process The two main methods of manufacturing latex foam products are the Dunlop process and Talalay process. We follow the Dunlop process to manufacture our latex. The key steps in this process are: 1. Compounding - Natural latex, soaps and rubber curing agents are mixed together in a water cooled, stainless steel mix tank. 2. Mixing Compounded latex is sent through a machine to mix with air for the foaming process.

Difference between Talalay & Dunlop processes. The major difference between the two processes are what happens in the mould just prior to the initial latex curing stage.

6 Difference between Talalay & Dunlop processes. The major difference between the two processes are what happens in the mould just prior to the initial latex curing stage. The Dunlop process mixes compressed air with the latex. This makes it possible to control the amount of air mixed in, producing predictable levels of firmness. The Talalay process employs a vacuum after air whipping followed by freezing the mould before undergoing vulcanization. The mattress core is flash frozen to lock the cell structure in place and to prevent the particles from settling. In the Dunlop process, the moulds are filled to the rim, and there is no freeze stage. Therefore, the latex cell structure is less airy". Gravity takes over and particles settle creating a denser product than the Talalay latex.
