3 How do I register for the service? TheNHSMinorAilmentServiceisavailablefrom pharmaciesacrossscotland. Youcanchoosewhichpharmacytoregisterwith. Youcanregisteratanytime youdon thavetomake anappointment. Whenyouregister,yourpharmacistmayaskyouforsome information,includingyourname,dateofbirthandpostcode. TheywillalsocheckwhetheryoucanusetheNHSMinor AilmentServiceandmayaskyouforproof,forexample yourmaternityormedicalexemptioncertificate.try to remember to bring this proof with you. Yourpharmacistwillcompleteaform,whichyoumustsign. Yourpharmacistwillcompleteaseparateformforeach memberofyourfamily,includingchildrenunder16,or under19andinfull-timeeducation. Youcanonlyregisterfortheservicewithonepharmacy atatime.ifyouregisterwithanewpharmacy,youwill nolongerberegisteredattheoldpharmacy. 2 While you are registered for the service you can still make an appointment to see your doctor whenever you like. Rememberthatevenifyoucan tusethisfreeservice, youcangotoyourpharmacistforadviceortobuy amedicineforaminorillnessorcomplaint.

Youwillbeabletogetadviceandfreetreatment (ifyouneedit)fromyourpharmacistforminorillnesses andcomplaints,suchas: acne athlete s foot backache cold sores constipation cough diarrhoea earache eczema and allergies haemorrhoids (piles) hay fever headache head lice indigestion mouth ulcers nasal congestion pain period pain thrush sore throat threadworms warts and verrucae Yourpharmacist,likeyourdoctor,canonlygiveoutcertain medicinesandproducts.youmaynotgetthemedicineor productyouwouldnormallybuy.
