2 WELCOME ADDRESS Dear colleagues and friends, It is a great honor for us to host Chinese-Russian Colorectal Surgery Symposium in Beijing, China. The Chinese-Russian Colorectal Surgery Symposium represents the most important event for colorectal surgeons in China and Russia in a friendly atmosphere that allows fruitful and exciting discussions and exchanges on new approaches to the complete care of the colorectal diseases. In the years past, this symposium is a unique opportunity to meet our colleagues from China and Russia. During the symposium leading experts will present the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal diseases. The symposium will improve deep collaboration and enhance communication between colorectal surgeons in China and Russia. Most importantly, extensive academic exchanges and collaborations will take place during this time, friendships will be built, and professional networks will be established. We would like to invite our colleagues to participate in this meeting and truly make this a persistent event.
