3 BreastScreen in Queensland National government funded program for the early detection of breast cancer Providing free screening for women in Queensland for over 25 years 11 screening and assessment services across the state, 9 mobile vans visit over 260 sites annually 251,000 ( ) women screened in Queensland, currently 183,150 ( ) to 31 March 2017
4 BSQ Gold Coast Service Screening Services: Southport, Burleigh Heads, Helensvale and mobile locations at Beeneigh, Beaudesert, Mt Tamborine, Nerang, Elanora, and Robina Over 26,000 women screened since 1 July 2016 this year, approx. 32,000 women screened on the Gold Coast annually 3 Assessment Clinics each week at Southport 1,470 women or 6% of those screened since 1 July 2016 this year attended Assessment, 35% required cytology/pathology testing
5 Services provided at BSQ Gold Coast FREE, high quality digital mammography every 2 years Assessment of screened women with a possible lesion Specialised, highly skilled, caring radiographers, doctors, nurses and administrative staff and volunteers All mammograms are independently read by 2 doctors across the state Outcomes and results provided to clients and their General Practitioners Over 200 National Accreditation Standards monitored and reported every 6 months within the BSQ program Online, digital and paper reminders to women due for screening
