With the most recent upgrade to CRStar, six quality measures have been added. The user will now see all twelve quality measures in the dashboard reports under the RQRS title. The six new measures have also been added to the reporting module. This e-news will demonstrate how to use each report, as well as list each quality measure by site. SITE QLTY MEASURE CRITERIA Breast BCSRT Radiation therapy is administered w/in 1 year (365 days) of diagnosis for women under age 70 receiving breast conserving surgery for breast cancer (Breast-Rad-Cons) Breast MAC Combination chemotherapy is considered or administered within 4 months (120 days) of diagnosis for women under the age of 70 with AJCC T1cNOM0, or Stage IB-III hormone receptor negative breast cancer. (Breast-Chemo) Breast HT Tamoxifen or third generation aromatase inhibitor is considered or administered within 1 year (365 days) of diagnosis for women with AJCC T1cN0M0, or Stage IB -Stage III hormone receptor positive breast cancer. (Breast-Hormone) Breast nbx Image or palpation-guided needle biopsy (core or FNA) is performed to establish diagnosis of breast cancer. (Breast-Needle Bx) Breast BCS Breast conservation surgery rate for women with AJCC clinical stage 0,I, or II breast cancer. (Breast -Conservation) Breast MASTR Radiation therapy is considered or administered following any mastectomy within 1 year (365 days) of diagnosis of breast cancer for women with >=4 positive regional lymph nodes(breast-rad/mast) Colon ACT Adjuvant chemotherapy is considered or administered within 4 months (120 days) of diagnosis for patients under the age of 80 with AJCC Stage III (lymph node positive) colon cancer. (Colon Chemo) Colon 12RL At least 12 regional lymph nodes are removed and pathologically examined for resected colon cancer. (Colon Lymph Nodes) Rectal RECRT Radiation therapy is considered or administered within 6 months (180 days) of diagnosis for patients under the age of 80 with clinical 1
or pathologic AJCC T4N0M0 or Stage III receiving surgical resection for rectal cancer. (Rectal Radiation) Gastric G15TRLN Gastric Measure: At least 15 regional lymph nodes are removed and pathologically examined for resected gastric cancer (Gastric Lymph Nodes) Lung 10RLN Lung measure - At least 10 regional lymph nodes are removed and pathologically examined for AJCC stage IA, IB, IIA, and IIB resected NSCLC. (NSCLC Lymph Nodes) Lung LCT Lung Measure: Systemic chemotherapy is administered within 4 months to day preoperatively or day of surgery to 6 months postoperatively, or it is considered for surgically resected cases with pathologic, lymph nodepositive (pn1) and (pn2) NSCLC. (NSCLC Chemo) 2
The new RQRS dashboard report displays the 12 quality measures showing the user the numerator and the denominator. For example, in the first study Breast RAD/CONS 228 patients met the criteria for the quality measure and 176 patients received the recommended treatment. Note: The name of the report will be changing from RQRS to Quality Measures in a future upgrade. The user can change the date range shown by going to Preferences, System Configuration, and then Dashboards as shown below. Enter the date range, click Save, then Exit. Note: Only users with system admin rights have access to the dashboard configurations. 3
Another feature has been added to display only the quality measures that the user may want to compare. To remove quality measures from the dashboard report, click directly on the measure to remove as shown below. In this example, all quality measures have been removed except for the breast measures. 4
Since adding the new quality measures, the original measures have been moved to a different location in CRStar. They are now located in the reporting module under CPM reports, then Qlty measures. They have been modified so that the user can enter any date range based on diagnosis date. This allows the user to run reports based on a quarter of the year, the entire year or several years at a time. The user should enter the hospital code followed by the date of diagnosis date range of the quality measure to run. Note: only one quality measure can be run at a time. Then click select. In this example, the breast radiation with conservation study was selected. 12 records were selected and indicated in the bottom right corner. This means that 12 patients met the criteria of the quality measure. As the system auto selects the cases that met the criteria for the quality measure, it also auto selects a population of those cases that can later be used in an assortment of ad hoc reports and graphs. See the screenshot below of the auto selected population. 5
The user can compare the number of records selected of the quality measure (the denominator) and compare the number to the (numerator) displayed on the dashboard report for the same specified date range. The user can use the auto select population in an ad hoc report to examine criteria for that quality measure as shown below. These comparisons enable the user to work on the numerator to increase the quality of the data more rapidly. 6
