18 Thermal cameras Screening of all passengers by these cameras helped in detecting probable and suspected cases Definitions Probable cases: - define as individual with acute febrile respiratory illness who are positive influenza A but ve H1 & H3 by CPR Suspected cases: - defined as individual with acute febrile respiratory illness who:- A. Had symptoms within 7 days of close contact with confirmed case. B. Had symptoms within 7 days of traveling from community with confirmed cases. C. Resides in a community where there are one or more confirmed cases

25 To face such challenge we raised the number of working medical stuff from 67 physicians as well as raising the paramedical stuff from 67 to 286

28 Working stuff Working stuff returning from infected countries or suffering from acute febrile respiratory illness shouldn t return to work until symptoms improvement and at least 24 hour free after fever resolution without any antipyretics.

31 Several meetings with ministry of health staff were held to participate in the national health prevention plans in face of H1N1 pandemic

33 ( Continuity Plan) 2 In Egyptian airports when suspected cases were detected, the proper preventive measures were immediately taken including Adequate treatment of confirmed cases ( isolation, hospitalization ) Contacts to cases were probably examined and observed until the end of incubation period (1-7 days) Ward disinfection

36 Confirmed cases of staff employee under treatment had payable sick leave until cured before returning to work they were properly re examined IN the pandemic peak (the number of detected cases increased remarkably) the following measures were taken. 1. The working staffs were organized into 3 groups to ensure continuity of work. 2. Proper coordination with the stalk holder 3. crises Committee 4. Blue team ( emergency team when needed )

39 Conclusion & Recommendation 4 The series of preventive measures that our expertise have followed during the pandemic worked successfully as it have minimize the number of cases in the following six months. We believe that following such measures in the country of origin of any outbreak can diminish the spread of infection to other countries. We also recommend the creation of emergency teams to deal with similar crises in the future.
