2 25-26 Season Influenza Activity Summary Number of Reported Influenza Cases* and Influenza Seasons During the influenza season, 2,19 influenza cases were identified by viral culture, DFA, IFA or other rapid test methods. Reported influenza cases by type are as follows: H1N1 (), H3N2 (32), Unspecified type A (816), type B (1,126) and unknown type (135). The influenza season peaked during the week ending March 18, Number of Reported Influenza Cases by Age Group* and Influenza Seasons During the influenza season, the largest number of positive cases was reported in the year age group (661). Around 36 percent (768) of the positive cases were in children aged 1 and under. The data received are aggregate numbers and may include out of state residents. Nine selected sentinel laboratories throughout the state submit influenza testing data to the NDDoH. The locations of the laboratories are as follows: Fargo, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Minot, Bismarck, Williston and Dickinson. Positive laboratory tests reported from these nine laboratories peaked the week ending March 11, 26. The locations of the sites are as follows: Fargo, Grand Forks, Belcourt, Harvey, Devils Lake, Valley City, Minot, Bismarck, Watford City, Dickinson and McVille. 4 25-26 Season Influenza Activity Summary Number of Patients Influenza Sentinel Physician Surveillance Program Number of Patients with Influenza-like Illnesses* by Age Group and Influenza Seasons >64 Age Group *Influenza-like Illness is defined as fever of > 1º F with cough and/or sore throat Data provided by the twentyone sentinel providers indicated that most of the patients seen in their clinic with influenza-like illness were between the ages of 5 and 24 years old. This is consistent with the age data received on the reported positive cases.. The locations of these laboratories are as follows: Fargo, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Minot, Bismarck, Williston and Dickinson.
