1 # OBJECTIVES IN: DEVELOPMENT OF THE EYE LGIS (Dr. Arshad) Describe the development of the eye Associate congenital anomalies with development of the eye that impede vision Correlate the large corneal diameters and opaque lens to congenital malformations of eye 2 IN: OGLE (LGIS; Ali) / STRUCTURE OF THE EYE (LGIS; Dr. Arshad) Identify the Multi-layered structure of the eye Associate structure of each layer with its function Infer the loss of structural integrity to loss of function of each layer of the eye Advocate workplace safety in reference to protection of ocular structures 3 IN: REFRACTIVE ERRORS (LGIS) Illustrate how light is brought into focus on the retina Associate refractive errors with poor vision Draw ray diagrams to show refractive errors (hyperopia, myopia, astigmatism) Describe Accommodation, Presbyopia and its correction Formulate a plan of vision correction (by spectacles) for refractive errors (distance & near) Demonstrate Snellen s Visual Acuity test [Hands-on] 4 IN: Case / PHYSIOLOGY OF VISION (LGIS; Dr. Sadaf) Describe the visual cycle Associate visual pigments with visual cycle Correlate the mechanism of loss of colour or night vision to loss of visual pigments Demonstrate Color Vision test [Hands-on]
