26 TELECOIL BATTERY DOOR All Pure 13 Nx, Motion 13 Nx, and Motion 13P Nx will ship with a standard battery door. A Telecoil Battery Door will ship with each aid ordered, at no additional cost. This will allow for the convenient conversion in your clinic when a telecoil is desired. No need to return and re-order alternate aids or order parts at a later date. Optional: Keep spare battery doors on hand for stock or periodically gather and return extra battery doors or telecoil battery doors to us for re-use. To exchange battery doors, follow these fast and simple steps: Open battery door Slide out the pin Exchange the door leave the door in the open position Replace the pin 20

27 APPS mycontrol App Advanced remote control app. The mycontrol App 2.3 provides the wearer with a convenient way to control their Signia Bluetooth hearing aids according to their needs as well as to monitor their hearing performance closely. It is compatible with Signia Nx and BT hearing aids. The mycontrol App 2.3 is available for Apple (ios 9 and onwards) and certain Android (version 6.0 and onwards) mobile devices, and can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store SM or Google Play. 21

36 minireceiver 2.0 Exchanging the minireceiver and wax protection minireceiver 2.0 exchanging is as easy as 1, 2, 3 The minireceiver 2.0 is easily exchangeable. To replace the minireceiver, use the exchange tool to open and close the locking bar for reliable securing and no risk of dislodgement. Open the locking bar. Remove / Insert the minireceiver. Close the locking bar. minireceiver 2.0 is equipped with the proven 2-step wax protection system. The wax grid in the Click Domes has been modified and is now made of a soft silicone and is easily squeezed and can be replaced by the Audiologist or the patient. A second line of defense sits directly in the tip of the receiver itself. The minireceiver wax guard is an additional filter that prevents cerumen from entering the receiver and can easily be exchanged to ensure optimal sound quality. With these two effective and easy-to-clean exchange measures, most patient problems with cerumen can be resolved quickly and easily. 37 RIC measuring tool instructions Proper placement of the measuring gauge is important Correct position of receiver in ear canal PROPER insertion depth When the receiver length is accurate and the dome fits well, the lateral end of the receiver should barely be visible and the receiver wiring should be flush against the ear. PROPER placement IMPROPER placement Place the measuring tool vertically, against the ear. To determine the correct receiver size, find the center of the ear canal and read directly across to the corresponding number (see arrow). If the reading is in between numbers, err on the side of the larger number and longer receiver length. 7 IMPROPER insertion depth If the receiver is clearly visible in the ear and there is bending of the receiver wiring, then the insertion depth is insufficient. 38 How to remove and replace Click Sleeves and Click Domes Replacing Click Sleeves or Click Domes is simple: The packaging is designed to help you easily remove used sleeves and domes. Once the used sleeve or dome is removed, simply press the tip of the minireceiver unit into the new Click Sleeve or Click Dome until it clicks in. Remove Connect The Click Sleeve/Dome packaging is designed with a slot for removal of the single dome. Slide the minireceiver into the slot and gently remove the used Click Sleeve/ Dome. Press the tip of the minireceiver unit into the Click Sleeve/Dome. The minireceiver clicks in and you are ready! 30

54 StreamLine Mic Pairing Pairing with Hearing Aids Open and close the battery doors of the hearing aids to place them in pairing mode. Turn on StreamLine Mic by holding down the MFB until the power indicator is green. This takes approximately 3 seconds. The status indicator flashes yellow. Place both hearing aids close to StreamLine Mic (maximum distance 20 cm or 8 inches). The pairing process starts automatically. Pairing is finished when the status indicator is solid yellow. A solid green power indicator and solid yellow status indicator verify connection to hearing aids is successful with no mobile device paired. Your hearing aids need to be paired once with StreamLine Mic. Pairing with Smartphone Confirm that Bluetooth of the mobile device is on Turn on StreamLine Mic by holding down the MFB until the power indicator is green. This takes approximately 3 seconds. Hold down the the MFB and + button on the StreamLine Mic at the same time until status indicator flashes blue. This takes approximately 6 seconds. The wearer has 3 minutes to complete the pairing. 56 Pairing for StreamLine TV If ordered together, Signia will pair all Nx and BT hearing aids to the Streamline TV. The hearing aids need to be paired once with the transmitter. After that, the pairing is saved in the hearing aids and remembered each time they are turned on. Ensure that the transmitter is connected to the power supply. Turn the hearing aids off and on again: open and close the battery compartments. If your hearing aids do not have a battery compartment, turn them off and on as described in the hearing aids user guide. Place both hearing aids close to, or on top of, the transmitter. The pairing process starts automatically. Observe the indicators: Description If pairing is completed, both indicators are blue for about 30 seconds. Multiple users: The transmitter can be paired to multiple hearing aids. All hearing aids will be able to hear the same audio signal. To clear the pairings of one current user, first reset the transmitter to factory settings. This will clear the pairings of all users. After that, pair the hearing aids of the other users again. Signia Nx and primax BT hearing aids allow direct streaming from the paired ios device, whether it be a phone call or anything else. With the addition of the StreamLine Mic, streaming is possible from virtually any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, including Android devices. The Remote Microphone is a new 2.3 feature. The wearer can place the ios device towards their conversation partner and it can serve as a remote microphone. This way, the speaker's voice is streamed directly into the wearer's hearing aids. The mycontrol App Sound Exposure page displays the sound level around the user throughout the day, usage time, and projections regarding the probable speech understanding for different listening situations. The new Voice Activity tracking visualizes how the wearer has been participating in conversations. One of the primary goals of amplification is to encourage conversation and social engagement. When the wearer's own voice sounds more natural through features like Signia Nx's Own Voice Processing, the wearer can feel more at ease and less distracted in conversation situations. 101 StreamLine TV Quick Fit Guide without mycontrol App All wearers of Nx and BT hearing aids have direct binaural streaming for TV via the StreamLine TV and a manual TV program. Setup of a manual TV program: 1. Connect Nx or BT hearing aids via Connexx 8.5 and Noahlink Wireless 2. Read from aids 3. Select Program Selection 4. Select TV from drop-down in the next available program slot 5. Connexx will prompt you to select a desired side to activate program change with the Rocker Switch. The default is the right hearing aid. 6. Click OK 7. Your patient will simply need to access the TV program manually via the Rocker Switch 8. 105 How to fit Tinnitus Notch Therapy: step-by-step using guided matching To implement Tinnitus Notch Therapy for patients using Signia hearing aids, first perform a First Fit using the Connexx fitting software, and fine-tune the settings as you would for any patient. Fine-tuning should be completed, including programming any additional listening programs if required, prior to setting up Tinnitus Notch Therapy. Next, open the Tinnitus tab on the lefthand navigation bar, and select Notch Therapy. Guided Matching: The Tinnitus frequency is determined using a simple A-B comparison: Have the Audiologist play Tone A and Tone B to compare both. Then decide via which one is more similar, i.e. closer in pitch to the perceived Tinnitus: The underlying algorithm will automatically calculate the next adequate step based on the patient's selection. Test tones will be played at an initial loudness of 5 db SL, based on the underlying Audiogram. In case the estimated individual loudness should not be suitable, it may be adjusted using the slider on the lower right. (and can be directly used to activate the Tinnitus Notch for the desired listening programs). The procedure will automatically terminate as soon as the required amount of steps has been reached, depending on the feedback given. The determined frequency is then automatically taken over 81

106 How to fit Tinnitus Notch Therapy: step-by-step using guided matching (continued) Frequency Check: This procedure is a final step during tinnitus pitch matching. It can correct a misjudgment of pitch by octaves, also referred to as octave confusion, a common problem with pitch matching. The Frequency Check is very similar to the Matching procedure. Play Tone A, Tone B, and additionally Tone C, if available. Ask the patient to compare these three, and then choose via the tone most similar, i.e. closest in pitch, to the perceived tinnitus. Activate Notch: The Tinnitus Notch can be activated in all compatible listening programs, as desired, via checkbox. It is recommended to place the notch in the universal program and for the patient to spend most of their wear time in a notch program. 82
