3 Side effects This product or one of its components may in particular cases cause hypersensitive reactions. If suspected, information on the ingredients can be obtained from the manufacturer. Warnings / Precautions Irritating to eyes. Irritating to respiratory system. Harmful by inhalation. Irritating to skin. The product contains methacrylate compounds that may cause sensitisation by skin contact. GLUMA Desensitizer PowerGel contains glutardialdehyde that may cause localised irritation and may cause sensitisation either directly or through inhalation. Wear suitable protective gloves. Avoid contact with skin. In case of contact with skin, immediately wash with plenty of water and soap. Avoid contact with eyes as this may cause serious damage. Wear safety glasses and ensure patient has adequate face protection. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult an eye specialist. Do not swallow or take this product. If health complaints develop after swallowing or inhaling the product, seek medical advice immediately. To avoid cross-contamination between patients, the enclosed cannulae must be discarded after a single use. Dosage and administration Treatment of hypersensitive dentine The treatment of hypersensitive dentinal surfaces is only indicated in cases of severe pain in reaction to thermal, osmotic or tactile stimuli. In cases of mild pain, alternative treatments such as desensitising toothpastes should be used. Clean the dentine (e.g., with cleansing pumice), under local anesthetic if necessary, and then rinse with water. Protect mucous membranes from contact with the product using a rubber dam.

4 Apply the smallest possible amount of GLUMA Desensitizer PowerGel necessary for the treatment to the dentinal surface and then leave for seconds. Then rinse with plenty of water and apply suction. For deep cavities with only a minimal layer of dentine over the pulp or those which have already had a small area exposed, indirectly or directly cap the pulp locally using calcium hydroxide. Cover the calcium hydroxide with a glass ionomer cement. If a single application of GLUMA Desensitizer PowerGel does not provide sufficient and sustained pain relief, topical application can be repeated at the same or a subsequent visit before alternative treatments are used. Treatment of dentine prepared to receive fixed dentures or restorations Protect mucous membranes from contact with the product using a rubber dam. Remove moisture from the prepared dentine by applying a gentle stream of air. Apply GLUMA Desensitizer PowerGel and leave for seconds. Ensure that only the smallest possible amount is applied. Then rinse with plenty of water and apply suction. For deep cavities with only a minimal layer of dentine over the pulp or those which have already had a small area exposed, indirectly or directly cap the pulp locally using calcium hydroxide. Cover the calcium hydroxide with a glass ionomer cement. Important processing instructions Visually inspect for damage before first use. Damaged products must not be used. Remove only the smallest quantity necessary and close the container immediately. GLUMA Desensitizer PowerGel must not come into contact with metal (e.g., cannulae or other application aids).
