2 Clinical Dentistry and Research 1. Aims and Scope The Clinical Dentistry and Research is a peer-reviewed quarterly online journal with print on demand compilation of issues published. It is aimed at encouraging scientific research and its documentation, not only to enhance the general standards of dentistry and public dental health, but also in the health service planning and promotion of general well being throughout the world. It has been initiated with the purpose of bringing scientific research, interesting case reports, newer techniques, and opinions to a wider audience of dental professionals around the globe in order to improve the clinical outcome of dental treatment. The journal provides a platform to researchers, clinicians and academicians in the field of dentistry to expand their intellectual horizon and professional acumen in order to encourage self-reliance and confidence in the dental fraternity worldwide. The journal publishes research papers of the highest scientific merit and widest possible scope on Clinical aspects of dentistry and supporting specialties. The journal is divided into sections, ensuring every aspect of dentistry through a range of invited review articles, leading clinical and research articles, technical notes, abstracts, case reports, and others. The scientific content in this journal is clinically oriented, scientifically relevant and evidence based which is carefully selected through a systematic and unbiased approach. This journal provides authors a platform wherein article submission to publication is transparent, timely, and pleasant process. Manuscripts are invited from all the arenas of dentistry i.e., oral medicine and maxillofacial radiology, prosthodontics, periodontics, pedodontics and preventive dentistry, public health dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, conservative dentistry, endodontics, oral and maxillofacial pathology, dental implantology, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics, forensic odontology, infection control practices in dentistry, musculoskeletal dentistry and TMJ, maxillofacial pain, local and general anesthesia, etc. The journal s full text is available online at The journal allows free access (open access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional/ subject-based repository. The journal does not charge for submission, processing, or publication of manuscripts and even for color reproduction of photographs. 2. Ethical Considerations Manuscripts submitted for publication must comply with the following ethical considerations: Informed Consent Informed consent of the patients must be taken before they are considered for participation in the study. Patient identifying information, such as names, initials, hospital numbers, or photo graphs should not be included in the written descriptions. Patient consent should be obtained in written and archived with the authors. Protection of Human Subjects and Animals in Research When conducting experiments on human subjects, appropriate approval must have been obtained by the relevant ethics committees. All the procedures must be performed in accor dance with the ethical standards of the respon sible ethics committee both (institutional and national) on human experimentation and the Helsinki Declaration of 1964 (as revised in 2008). When reporting experiments on animals, authors must follow the institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals. 3. Copyright Following guidelines must be followed before submission of the manuscript: The articles must represent original research material, should not have been published before, and should not be under consideration of publication elsewhere. This however, does not include previous publication in form of an abstract or as part of published literature (review or thesis). It is the duty of the author to obtain the necessary permissions for extensive quotations, tables, illus trations, or any other copyrighted material they are using in the paper before a paper can be considered for publication. Copyright of the article gets transferred to Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers (P) Ltd., once the article has been accepted for publication. The author would be asked to sign the Copyright Transfer Form before his/her article is considered for publication. Once the Copyright Transfer statement has been signed by the corres ponding author, no change in authorship or in the order of the authors listed on the article would be accepted by Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers (P) Ltd. Also by signing the above-mentioned form, the author reassigns the rights of copublishing, or translation if considered necessary in future to the publisher. In the advent of occurrence of any dispute, the matter would be resolved within the jurisdiction of New Delhi court.
