The Nautilus commercial E916 and E10 elliptical trainers feature a patented stride technology, called SyncLink. SyncLink derives its name from the four-bar linkage system between the foot pedals and the crank arm. This linkage system results in the foot pedals articulating in such a way that they track the natural movement of the foot through the elliptical motion. The benefit to the user: the SyncLink stride system used only on our elliptical trainers creates a more natural, comfortable movement. As with any piece of fitness equipment, if a user can be made more comfortable, they will enjoy using the product longer and more frequently resulting in a far more effective fitness program. Other fixed pedal ellipticals force you to move your foot and ankle position to adjust to the machine. The result is a less comfortable movement during longer workouts and a higher perceived exertion. Here s how SyncLink works - as you stride normally, you have a heel-down and toe-up position when your foot is extended forward in preparation for the foot plant. When you are in the middle of your stride, your foot is flat. Then, as you push-off, your foot is in a toe-down and heel-up position.
