In short, hemp is defined in the 2014 Federal Farm Bill as any part of the Cannabis sativa L. plant, growing or not, that contains less than 0.3% of -9 THC on dry weight basis. Anything else above that 0.3% threshold is considered marijuana. ARE HEMP SEED OIL AND WHOLE-PLANT HEMP EXTRACT OIL THE SAME? No. Hemp seed oil is rich in omega fatty acids but contains low levels of CBD or none at all. Charlotte's Web hemp extract is made from the whole plant, while hemp seed oil is made from the seeds. IS IT POSSIBLE TO TEST POSITIVE ON A DRUG TEST FROM USING CHARLOTTE'S WEB PRODUCTS? Much like the consumption of poppy seeds may lead to a positive drug test for opioids, the consumption of certain hemp products may lead to a positive drug test for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is inherently present in trace amounts in hemp plants. The legal limit of THC in hemp is no more than 0.3%.
