8 QUALITY CONTROL Quality Control Department: B. Jain Pharmaceuticals has a well equipped Quality Control department which has an experienced team of chemists, botanists and expert technicians. The QC is outfitted with the most advanced machinery and equipment for testing the raw material, and medicines at various stages. THREE STAGE TESTING Raw Material: Comparative study of standard and rejected samples All herbs and raw materials go through standardization tests. Well laid out procedures for herbs tests include studying organoleptic features, macroscopic & microscopic testing and TLC. These tests help the Quality Control staff at B. Jain to identify any spurious ingredients at an early stage. All the raw material is tested and approved before its taken for production. 8

9 Production: The QC department does in-house inspection of the production department from time to time to assure that all the products are being made as per GMP norms and are of high and consistent quality. Area count (Microbiological testing) of different areas of production is done from time to time to keep in check the sterilization of the area. Finished Products: The QC does tests of samples of all batches of finished products for microbiological testing and standards of finished products before it is released in the market for sale. Microbiological testing All samples are tested for accelerated stability test (for any microbiological growth and chemical stability at extremes of temperature and humidity).
