14 INDEPTH s Mission To harness the collective potential of the world's community-based longitudinal demographic surveillance initiatives in resource constrained countries to provide a better, empirical understanding of health and social issues, and to apply this understanding to alleviate the most severe health and social challenges. We are saying: We will do this work together to provide evidence to decision-makers

29 Vaccinations WG Led by Peter Aaby (Bandim, Guinea Bissau) Objective is to look broadly at the impact of vaccinations on child survival at INDEPTH sites Several INDEPTH sites have contributed data to examine issues related to vaccinations and child survival In March 2008, WHO funded participating INDEPTH sites to meet at the London School (organised by Peter Smith), to develop analytical techniques to examine the data. INDEPTH funded the vaccinations group to hold a oneday meeting in London after the London School meeting.
