3 Login to Resource Scavenger Hunt Find the following: 1. Navigate to Resources and Tools then to Search Resources (or Resource Database) The district and some of the schools you are working with want to implement a health education program that aligns with state and national standards. List a health education curriculum that is available for a discount through the Healthy Schools Program Member Discounts. 2. Navigate to Resources and Tools then to Success Stories Your school wants to create a walking club for students, staff and the community. Find a story about a school that has done this. What is the name of the school and what did they do? 3. Navigate to Search Resources (or Resource Database) The principal at your school is hoping that all teachers will integrate some physical activity into their classrooms daily. Find a free resource that can be ed to teachers that will provide them with a minute of physical activity they can easily use. What is the name of this resource? Navigate to Success Stories and find a story about a school that has successfully used this program. What is the name of the school? 3 of 8
4 4. Navigate to the Search Resources (or Resource Database) You are preparing to complete your Inventory and would like to print out a copy for your next school wellness council meeting. Search for Inventory Worksheet and locate the following: List one criteria that is part of the district Inventory In addition to the question, what other two items are in this document? 5. Navigate to Resources & Tools then to School Meals. Click the orange tab titled School Recipes Your Food Service Director wants to freshen up the school lunch menu with some new recipes. You direct her to the recipes on the Alliance website. What three tests do all of the recipes here meet? Sloppy Joes are very popular but she would like to improve on what is currently being served. Using the Product Navigator and the nutrition labels provided, determine whether or not the following products meet the Alliance s Guidelines and if not, list why. (Hint: Go to Wellness Categories on the website) Incorrect Name Policies & Procedures School Food Snacks and Drinks Healthy Habits Employee Activities Physical Fitness Student Activities Correct Name 2. Navigate to Wellness Categories Your school thinks after school is a great time to provide students with physical activity opportunities and messages about healthy eating. Specifically, the wellness council wants to know about resources to provide healthy snacks within the program. Write down some suggestions for actions and resources that you find in the Student Wellness Toolkit. 3. Stay on Wellness Categories: Your wellness council wants to involve staff in wellness and wants to use a survey to determine what the interests are. Find a survey for them to use.
