ANNOUNCEMENTS o Primary Substance Use and Overdose Location charts were distributed and discussed o Genoa Pharmacy opioid cap was cut in half o Maryland Insurance Administration Presentation flyer distributed Held on November 15 th from 10am-11am at Barstow office o 8-505/8-507 and women with children will be transferred to ASO on January 1 st 2018 III. BUSINESS ITEMS o Justice Reinvestment Initiative Went into effect on October 1 st 2017 Agreed upon by all three branches of MD government MD expects to save money and use it to reinvest in the community 4 focuses of JRA: Diversion/Deflection Rehabilitation Restorative Justice Re-entry
2 Local Government Justice Reinvestment Commission Calvert County s representative is Lieutenant Tim Fridman, with the Calvert County Sheriff s Office We are trying to align our grants with what JRI is looking for Planning on sending an invitation to Judge Long head of the LGJRC to explain the roll out Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Interest gauged, may be formed and held briefly after future LDAAC meetings Stepping Up Subcommittee Transportation and Housing going back to Jennifer Moreland Data Collection and Peer Support will be with CCBH a. Data collection program still in consideration possibly Medicalistics IV. GRANTS UPDATES o GOCCP Vivitrol Grant Will likely be extended Currently looking for another case manager prior to that extension Vicki Roberts 46 starts from the beginning of the program o Calvert County Family Network Reentry Case Management Criteria: 1. All participants must be Calvert County residents and are referred by CCDC while incarcerated years old with a minimum of 6 18 months sentencing 3. Adults with children under the age of 18 with a minimum of 6-18 months sentencing Numbers have doubled since July meeting Rollout occurring more steadily Two releases this month Three to four releases next month 4 currently in the community Finalized reentry guide o Community Health Resources Commission Rational Re-entry Should be in full force come January 2018 o Maryland Opioid Rapid Response (MORR) Healthy Beginnings Currently staffs a nutritionist, epidemiologist, nurse case manager and peer recovery specialist
3 Helps get pregnant women on Subutex 46 babies have been born in the program over the last 2 years 6 developed NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome) Expectations without the program: 32 o Opioids Operation Command Center (OOCC) Opioid Intervention Teams (OIT) New nurse practitioner at CCBH Lusby offering MAT Establishing a peer support program at CalvertHealth Medical Center Emergency Department Education and distribution of Narcan Narcan is being distributed to overdose patients at the hospital V. PROGRAM UPDATES o Pamm Pierce, Calvert County Behavioral Health CCBH received a 3 year CARF Accreditation in September IOP is now offered in Chesapeake Beach and Lusby locations New nurse practitioner at CCBH Lusby offering MAT Project Phoenix has expanded taking on 2 new case managers New peer recovery specialist hired for Healthy Beginnings o Karen Carloni, Southern MD Community Network Program openings available at the Network o Andrea McDonald-Fingland, Project Chesapeake Open House for Waldorf location held on Friday, October 13 th Waldorf location opens on Monday, October 16 th Next program location will be located in Queen Anne s County o Joe Windsor, Calvert County Sheriff s Office 121 non-fatal overdose since 1/ fatal overdose since 1/ OD in October Average age is 35 y/o 31 non-fatal & 1 fatal overdoses of Calvert County residents outside of the county o Candice D Agostino, Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse $10,000 given to support school-based behavioral health $4,000 given to 4 schools and a local church for prevention activities Getting overdose signs for in front of North Beach VFD, Prince Frederick VFD, and Solomons VFD
