Practical, Comfortable & Reliable Continence Care
Selecting your GB Libra Sheath The GB Libra Sheath is available in three styles providing a practical, comfortable and reliable means of continence care Style 1: Standard A standard length Sheath with centrally positioned adhesive. GB Libra Sheath Standard are suitable for men with an average length of penis. Style 2: Pop On A shorter length Sheath combined with a maximum adhesive area will provide men with a short or retracted penis a suitable Sheath option. Style 3: Wide Band A standard length Sheath with greater adhesive area to maximise security - particularly for those who are more active and have had trouble keeping other Sheaths in place.
Fitting Guide Sizing Using the GB Libra Sheath measuring wheel that is provided, gently place the cut-outs over the widest part of your penis. The cut out that fits the closest gives an indication which sheath would be appropriate for you to use. If you feel you are between sizes, go with the size that feels the most secure. Pubic Hair Slide one of the hair protectors down your penis, ensuring that as much pubic hair as possible is held behind the protector before applying the GB Libra Sheath. If necessary, trim any hair from the shaft of your penis and around the base. DO NOT shave as this could cause skin irritation. Guidelines DO wash and dry the penile area thoroughly. DO NOT use talc or cream. DO NOT retract the foreskin if uncircumcised. DO use a GB Soft Skin Barrier Wipe, if required, applying to the shaft of the penis (avoid the glands) and allow to dry. DO use a Hair Protector. DO roll the sheath along the shaft of the penis. Hold for 3 seconds to ensure even adhesion. DO change your sheath on a daily basis. DO use warm soapy water to remove sheath. If this becomes painful or difficult, use GB Soft Skin Medical Adhesive Remover. DO NOT continue usage if any soreness or irritation occurs - leave the sheath off and contact your nurse.
Instructions for Use Spout A Pull up gently Plastic cone Pull down gently Please ensure you are using the correct size and style of sheath - a measuring guide is enclosed for your reference. - If necessary trim the pubic hair or use the hair protectors supplied. - The sheath is supplied individually in a pouch. - The pouch has a perforated edge to allow the sheath to be removed easily. - Tear along the perforation to access the sheath. Diagram 1. - Remove the sheath from the pack by the spout and clear plastic cone. Diagram 2. - Take sheath off plastic cone by holding the sheath just below the nozzle (Point A on Diagram 3) and the plastic cone and gently pull. - Position the sheath over the penis. - If you are using a standard style sheath leave a small space between the end of the penis and the base of the spout. - Unroll the sheath along the shaft of the penis ensuring the end of the sheath is fully unrolled. Diagram 4. - Place your hand over the shaft of the penis and sheath and gently squeeze - this will allow the adhesive to warm up and ensures a comfortable fit. Diagram 5. - Fit drainage bag to leg first before connecting to the sheath to avoid any twisting as this may prevent drainage. - Connect your drainage bag to the spout of the sheath making sure the tap on the bag is in the closed position. Diagram 6.
Connecting to the Libra Leg Bag Available in a range of sizes: 350, 500, 750 and 1000ml capacity with a Short, Long or Adjustable Tube. The Libra Leg Bag is also available as a Direct Inlet. Instructions - Peel open the pouch and feed the white straps through the eyelets at the top and bottom of the bag. - Make sure that the straps silicone sides face your leg and adjust them so that the bag fits comfortably. Do not pull the straps too tightly as this could affect circulation in your leg. - The Libra Leg Bag can be worn on your calf or thigh depending on which size bag or tube length you prefer. - Once the Libra Leg Bag is in a comfortable position, fit the inlet tube to the GB Libra Sheath. Remove the protective cap from the connector first and then firmly push the connector directly into the GB Libra Sheath. - For ease of use all Libra Leg Bags have a lever tap. To open the tap and empty the bag push the lever downwards - Diagram A. - To close the tap, pull the lever upwards - Diagram B. - Always remember to close the tap after emptying. - The Libra Leg Bag has a life in use of, on average, 5-7 days and if required must be rinsed in-between uses according to guidelines set by your Healthcare Professional. - Libra Leg Bags with an adjustable tube can be cut to the desired length then fitted with the spare white connector. One of these can be found in the peel pouch with each adjustable tube Libra Leg Bag. Connection to an Overnight Drainage Bag For your ease and convenience you can connect a 2 litre Single Use or Reusable Night Bag to the silicone tube on the Leg Bag Tap. Ensure that the tap on your Libra Leg Bag is left in the open position to allow the urine to drain freely into the Night Bag. An alternative is to remove your Libra Leg Bag and connect the Night Bag directly to your Sheath, in the same way that you connect the Libra Leg Bag in the daytime. Follow the instructions for use that come with the Night Bag.
Features & Benefits - Available in 3 styles in a range of sizes. GB Libra Sheath offers the variety to ensure a suitable Sheath is found to meet the patient s needs. - GB Libra Sheath is manufactured using high grade silicone that is breathable - allowing for maximum comfort and skin integrity. - The self adhesive is integrated into the Sheaths - eliminating the need for additional adhesive strips or tape. - The nozzle is kink resistant and will maintain a continual flow of urine into drainage bag. - Silicone is malleable to provide a secure and comfortable fit to the penis. - GB Libra Sheaths are 100% latex free. - GB Libra Sheaths come with 30 hair protectors and a measuring guide in each box as standard.
