7 You pull up to the line of cars and campers at the mouth of the river and find a spot to park. You launch the canoe and fill it with your dog and fishing gear along with some grub for the day and begin to paddle against the current. Once away from the highway you smell the good smell of the green and muskeg and the freshness of the river. You see salmon darting in the water after the first turn, a half mile from the highway. Later, in the setting sun, you catch glimpses of white goats in the high granite walls surrounding the river where, later still, the bears come down to feed.
