1 ADVANCES IN THE SCIENCE OF THE STEVIA LEAF: A PATH TO THE BEST TASTE AND SENSORY EXPERIENCE 1
2 LETS PUT THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE CONSUMERS ARE LOOKING FOR NATUTRAL ALTERNATIVES TO REPLACE SUGAR What? Seeking sugar alternatives to offer sweetness without the backlash Sugar is the current number-one food villain, and consumers also dislike artificial sweeteners. Consumers are highly aware of their sugar and artificial sweetener consumption, but it can be hard to cut down on sweet food and drinks. Why? Sugar consumption is a major concern among consumers Using natural sugars that score low or middling on the glycemic index or other natural sweeteners offers benefits for consumers who find difficult to limit sugar consumption or avoid it altogether. Using plant based options to sweeten products has the potential to provide a healthier image. So what? Sugar swaps have potential to improve issues relating to excessive sugar consumption Developing sweet products using natural sugar alternatives will be highly appealing in the face of the sugar backlash. 2 PureCircle
