Description of first aid measures Inhalation: Bring the exposed person to the fresh air. If unconscious, ensure airways are clear and provide breathing. In case of difficulties in breathing provide a medical assistance. Contact with skin: In case of a spill on the skin remove the contaminated clothes. Immediately wash the contaminated skin with plenty of water with soap. Call a doctor in case of skin irritation. Contact with eyes: In case of eye contact remove the contact lenses immediately and rinse the eye with a continuous jet of water for about 15 minutes, holding the eyelids open. If one eye is contaminated, protect the other eye during the rinsing against contamination. If irritation persists, provide an ophthalmologic consultation. Digestive tract: Wash mouth thoroughly with water, and then, drink ml of water. Never give any water to unconscious person. Immediately get medical attention Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed Acute exposure effects (data for ethylene glycol): Ingestion is the most frequent way of poisoning. At the first stage of poisoning, which occurs right after the substance is swallowed, symptoms are similar to the effects of alcohol consumption: state of excitation, speech disorders, balance disorders, abnormal coordination, headaches and dizziness, somnolence, etc.; the following stage includes retching and vomits, diarrhoea; possibly breathing disorders; in case of heavy poisonings also circulation disorders, tachycardia, decreased blood pressure, coma, loss of consciousness with seizures, collapse; possible death as a result of respiratory arrest. Lethal dose for human is about 100 ml. In case of skin contact the substance causes light irritation. Prolonged eye contamination results in medium eye irritation. Chronic exposure effects (data for ethylene glycol): The substance can intensify existing skin, eye and respiratory tract ailments. It can also cause kidney and liver disorders and damages; possible brain damage Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Show this Safety Data Sheet, label or container to medical personnel. Notice to physician (data for ethylene glycol): Treatment of ethylene glycol poisoning should include the following actions dependent on patient s condition: stomach lavage within 2 hours from swallowing, controlling circular and respiratory disorders, administration of ethyl alcohol (intravenous drop infusion 5 15 % ethyl alcohol solution in 5 % glucose); in case of severe poisonings apply haemodialysis, diuresis. SECTION 5: Fire-fighting measures Non-flammable mixture. In case of fire close to the mixture follow these recommendations: 5.1. Extinguishing media

4 Version No.: 3 page 4/12 Appropriate extinguishing media: Alcohol-resistant foam, water dispersed flow, carbon dioxide, extinguishing powders. Inappropriate extinguishing media: Do not use a strong jet of water Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture May produce carbon oxides if burning Advice for firefighters Use full protective clothing and a breathing apparatus. Cool packages exposed to fire or high temperature with a dispersed flow of water; if possible remove from the hazard area. SECTION 6: Accidental release measures 6.1. Emergency precautions, personal protective equipment and procedures Avoid contact with the mixture. When collecting spills wear protective clothing, protective gloves, safety glasses (goggles) Environmental precautions Collect or pump the spill to separate containers for elimination or further processing. Prevent the mixture to enter sever system or groundwater using prisms of sand Methods and means of preventing spread of the contamination and removing contamination Sprinkle sand over small spills and then collect, with a shovel, the sand impregnated with the spilled mixture to containers for further elimination. Wash contaminated areas with a large amount of water. If the situation goes out of control, call the Chemical Rescue Service. Notify relevant authorities if the mixture enters groundwater Reference to other sections Refer to Section 8 for information on personal protective equipment. Eliminate in accordance with recommendations listed in Section 13. SECTION 7: Handling and storage of substances and mixtures 7.1. Precautions for safe handling Follow general rules concerning health and safety at work when using the mixture. Use personal protective equipment (Subsection 8.2). Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not eat, drink or smoke in the workplace. Always wash your hands after handling the mixture Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities The mixture should be stored in warehouse premises whose maximum temperature is 40 C. Drums and IBC containers with the mixture can be stored in a storage yard, too. Keep containers tightly closed. Shelf life 5 years from the date of production Specific end use(s) Designed for all vehicles with liquid cooling system of any type. No information on particular end uses.
