1 OEA Air - Table of All Acute, Chronic and 8 hour eference Exposure Levels 1 of 8 6/17/2015 3:30 PM ome Air OEA Acute, 8-hour and Chronic eference Exposure Level (EL)s Air Toxicology and Epidemiology All OEA Acute, 8-hour and Chronic eference Exposure Levels (chels) as of June 2014 Follow the links below to download documentation on the reference exposure levels. Footnotes: [1] EL types: A = acute, 8 = 8-hour, C = chronic. Exposure averaging time for acute ELs is 1 hour. For 8-hour ELs, the exposure averaging time is 8 hours, which may be repeated. Chronic ELs are designed to address continuous exposures for up to a lifetime: the exposure metric used is the annual average exposure. [2] Species used in key study for EL development: D = dog; Gb = gerbil; GP = guinea pig: = human; a = hamster; M = mouse; Mk = monkey; = rat; b = rabbit [3] These peer-reviewed chronic EL values were developed under the Toxic Air Contaminant (TAC) Program mandated by AB1807. [4] EL based on benchmark dose (BMC) approach. [5] EL developed using the revised methodology (OEA, 2008)].
