Postgraduate orthopaedic training at Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital and Sydney, Australia. Employment I was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon on My original appointment was to both Wrexham and Oswestry but I was subsequently appointed Head of Department at Wrexham to concentrate and develop both the elective orthopaedic and specialist interests in North Wales. I was Orthopaedic Clinical Director for three years and am Senior Consultant. For the past three years I have been the Clinical Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (Wrexham Maelor Hospital, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Ysbyty Gwynedd). My main clinical interests are in both upper and lower limb joint replacement and sports injuries. I currently specialise in Direct Anterior Approach Hip Replacement surgery and am lead orthopaedic clinician of the multi-disciplinary team treating chronic musculo-skeletal pain. Medico-legal Experience I have undertaken medico-legal work for twenty years comprising a mixture of plaintiff and defendant work and more recently as sole expert. I also have significant experience of medical negligence acting mainly on behalf of the plaintiff. I approximately undertake about 500 reports per annum. My specialist field is Orthopaedics and Trauma with particular interest in upper and lower limb joint replacement and sports injury and surgery. My medicolegal expertise involves all types of spinal injury and all aspects of traumatic injury particularly of the knee and shoulder. I have undertaken the Bond Solon Medico-legal Expert Witness Certificate. 1. I understand that my overriding duty is to the court, both in preparing reports and in giving oral evidence.
