3 Summary of medical practice, expertise and professional interests Professional qualifications: Dr Adedokun became a Fellow of the College of Anaesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in 2004, and in the same year became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He was granted Fellowship by assessment of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in NHS Consultant appointments: Dr Adedokun was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine at the Pennine Acute NHS Trust (North Manchester General Hospital) in May Current NHS practice: Dr Adedokun s practice is currently based at the North Manchester General Hospital Pain Management Unit, which is a dynamic, progressive and multi-disciplinary unit. Dr Adedokun has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of chronic pain conditions. His clinical experience includes chronic pain conditions such as chronic back and neck pain due to various causes, sciatic pain, Atypical facial pain, Trigeminal neuralgia, Post herpetic neuralgia, and other neuropathic pain syndromes, Complex headaches, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Cancer pain, Musculo-skeletal injuries/pain, Repetitive strain injuries, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome, Shoulder, Abdominal and Pelvic Pain Syndromes. Private practice: Dr Adedokun s private consulting rooms are at the Spire Manchester Hospital, the BMI Beaumont and Beardwood Hospitals in Bolton and Blackburn respectively, with admitting rights in these hospitals treating patients with a wide range of chronic pain conditions. Specialist medical interests: Dr Adedokun s varied interests include management of neuropathic pain especially Complex Regional Pain Syndromes, Musculoskeletal pain syndromes and Radiofrequency techniques for spinal and root pains. He has an expanding and ever-growing medico-legal practice preparing reports on the instruction of Claimants, Defendants and on a Joint Expert basis. Current instruction ratio is Claimant (60%); Defendant (30%); Joint (10%). Dr Adedokun produces an average of 200 reports a year and has made a number of Court appearances. 5 North of England Pain Society Current position of responsibility: Dr Adedokun was involved in establishing the Medico-legal Special Interest Group (SIG) within the British Pain Society in 2011 and is currently the Chairman. Dr Adedokun is also one of the moderators of the Pain Consultants Google group, an online discussion forum for over 350 Pain Consultants across the UK, Europe, US and Australia. Membership of expert witness organisations: Dr Adedokun is listed on the UK Register of Expert Witnesses, he is an APIL Expert, and is Sweet & Maxwell checked (2015) Member of Society of Expert Witnesses and Expert Witness Institute. Waiting time for next medico-legal appointment: No waiting lists. Most Clients are seen within an average of 1 4 weeks. Urgent appointments can also be accommodated. Waiting time from appointment to report (in weeks): Average 4 10 weeks (provided there is no intervening annual leave/sickness). Urgent reports can be accommodated, turnaround of 1 2 weeks for such reports have been achieved on numerous occasions (with cost implications).
