5 Speakers Biographies Robert Donatelli From , Dr. Donatelli was asked work with the Chinese Olympic Teams at the Chinese Olympic Center in Beijing China. His responsibilities included, teaching the team physician s evaluation, treatment, and prevention of injuries. In addition Since May of 2001 to 2008, Dr. Donatelli has been the physical therapist working with Andy Roddick ranked in the top 10 for 10 years on the ATP tour. Dr. Donatelli has published three textbooks Physical Therapy of the Shoulder 5th Ed, Orthopedic Physical Therapy 4th ed Biomechanics of the Foot and Ankle 2nd Ed and Sports Specific Rehabilitation 1st. Dr. Donatelli has published over 35 articles in peer review journals. Dr. Donatelli lectures throughout the United States, Canada, England, Iceland, Italy, Athens Greece, Ireland, China, Scotland, Australia, Swedish, Romanian and Finland. Dr. Donatelli lectured in Italy, in 2010, at the International Conference on Manual Therapy and Exercise. Dr. Donatelli has been asked to lecture in Russia at a foot and ankle conference and Sao Paulo Brazil at a Manual Therapy Congress in November of Paul Harradine Paul Harradine is a clinical podiatrist and director of The Podiatry Centre Ltd and The Foot Orthotics Laboratory Ltd. Paul has gained an MSc and CertEd working in both NHS clinical specialist posts and educational settings before becoming a full time private practitioner in He has published papers in podiatric, physiotherapy and orthopaedic texts on first ray function, plantar pressure analysis technology, taping, orthoses production and foot function theory amalgamation. Martyn Hooper For over twenty years Martyn was an A-level teacher and examiner for Politics & Government, was a Chartered Marketer and an external education adviser and examiner for the Chartered Institute of Marketing. After many years of feeling unwell and gradually seeing his health deteriorate he was finally diagnosed as having Sub-Acute Combined Degeneration of the Cord Secondary to Pernicious Anaemia in In 2004 he was forced to take early retirement from teaching and he formed the Pernicious Anaemia society with the sole intention of providing newly diagnosed patients with a plain English explanation of their disease. It soon became apparent that there were serious problems with patients being diagnosed quickly and receiving adequate treatment. He now spends his time volunteering for the society and representing over 10,000 of its members to decision makers in health at all levels. Martyn is the author of two books on Pernicious Anaemia, has written several articles for magazines and has a book of short stories being published soon Mr Ian Reilly FCPodS, DMS Consultant Podiatric Surgeon, Northamptonshire Foundation NHS Trust Mr Reilly has been qualified as a Podiatric Surgeon since 1996 and has performed over 6,000 surgical procedures. He has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and has lectured internationally on plastic (skin) surgical procedures of the foot, and injection therapy. Podiatric Surgery is well established in Northamptonshire and Mr Reilly leads the service for the local NHS Trust. Prior to this he was a senior lecturer at Northampton School of Podiatric Medicine. He is co-author of Foot and Ankle Injection Techniques: A Practical Guide. He had a concurrent career in the Territorial Army, serving four years in the Infantry where he was commissioned to 2nd Lieutenant; and five years in the Army Medical Corp where he rose to the rank of Captain. He served in Iraq in 2003 where he commanded a Dressing Station in al-amarah province. He is currently a Reserve Officer. Gill Sykes Gill has 27 years of experience as a specialist podiatrist, working to develop close links with the multidisciplinary team in Wound Management of complex foot ulcerations. Her main role is with vascular, diabetic and critically high-risk patients, taking part in joint clinics where she works alongside with a vascular consultant team with a particular interest in tissue viability, an orthotist and an amputee team. Gill also undertakes the measurement and fitting of prescription orthopaedic footwear and offloading, in order to address the long-term prevention of re-ulceration. Much of her work is in co-ordinating care for patients with foot wounds, working in the acute setting to provide a seamless journey for the patient between secondary and primary care. She has recently developed an acute diabetic foot pathway for patients with foot ulceration. Gill has been a Trustee for Tissue Viability Society for 5 years.
