1 Class ctinobacteria Subclass ctinobacteridae Order ctinomycetales Suborder Micromonosporineae Family Micromonosporaceae enus Catellatospora

2 The enus Catellatospora To the genus Catellatospora belong 7 species Catellatospora bangladeshiensis, chokoriensis, citrea, coxensis, koreensis, methionotrophica and tsunoense. Vegetative hyphae are branched but not fragmented. No true aerial mycelium is produced. Short chains of nonmotile spores arise singly or in tufts from the vegetative hyphae on the surface of agar media Cell walls contain meso-diaminopimelic (meso-dp) and 3- hydroxydiaminopimelic acids, glycine, and glycolic acid. Xylose and arabinose are present in cell hydrolysates. Characteristic phospholipids are phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol, and phosphatidylinositol mannosides. The major menaquis are MK-9 (C. citrea, C. tsunoense) and MK-10 (C.ferruginea and C. tsunoense). Inhabit soil. Secondery metabolites have not been described Type species is Catellatospora citrea. Lit.: nsano, K. and I. Kawamoto Cetellatospora, a new genus of the ctinomycetales. Int. J. System. Bacteriol. 36:
