6 III. Costs and Limitations The section below outlines: (A) Additional types of costs that a user may be required to pay to implement or use the Complete EHR or Health IT Module s capabilities, either to meet meaningful use objectives and measures or to achieve any other use within the scope of the health IT s certification: athenahealth's online implementation service is free for practices with one to six physicians. The onsite implementation fee for larger practices and organizations is based on the number of providers who will be using the athenaclinicals service. All athenaclinicals clients pay a monthly service fee, which covers all features, functionality, and services required to meet Meaningful Use objectives and measures. athenahealth s clients (eligible provider or hospital) would incur no additional costs either to meet meaningful use objectives and measures or to achieve any other use within the scope of the Health IT Module s certification. athenahealth does not charge additional fees for the development or configuration of interfaces or health information exchange integration that are required to meet Meaningful Use requirements. Other health care trading partners and vendors may charge athenahealth clients for the creation, development, and maintenance of interface or health information exchange integration. Clients that elect to use services above and beyond requirements to meet Meaningful Use may pay additional fees. (B) Limitations a user may encounter in the course of implementing and using the Complete EHR or Health IT Module s capabilities, either to meet meaningful use objectives and measures or to achieve any other use within the scope of the health IT s certification. athenahealth s clients (eligible provider or hospital) would incur no limitations either to meet meaningful use objectives and measures or to achieve any other use within the scope of the Health IT Module s certification.
