EHS assigns courses based on the Corporate EHS Curriculum Assignment Process. Some courses are recurrent. There are three modules of courses that are assigned to RTP staff: Blue (Office/Administrative employees), Yellow (Lab employees), and Orange (Maintenance employees). In addition to the courses for each color category, in some circumstances employee may also receive additional modules (Green modules), depending on their job duties. At this point in time, RTP does not have customized site specific modules in Mockingbird. Current course schedules: Blue Track (Blue A): Office employees (Admin, Fin, HR, IS, Procurement, Communications, Legal, Medical, Marketing, Sales/NonTech Services, Logistics, Executives). These topics act as a supplement to the site-wide courses that are covered during new employee orientation and Mockingbird Training. The courses are specific to the activities going on in the group. Examples of group specific training: Although a Mockingbird course may cover basic RCRA requirements, the group-specific topic would go in depth on the type of wastes handled by the group, where the wastes are kept, and how they track the wastes that are generated.
5 Procedure No.: RTPBC Page: 5 of 6 EHS Specialist Manager Another example may be a group-specific course that discusses the types of PPE that the group uses, when they use the PPE, how they order the PPE, and where they may store the PPE. A group specific office ergonomics course may be presented to office employees during a quarterly safety meeting to enhance the subject that was covered during new employee orientation. All group specific training records are maintained by the individual groups (typically business units) Other Miscellaneous EHS Training Courses In addition to the courses identified above, in order to ensure compliance with all EHS training requirements other individual and team specific training courses may be performed as well.
