Adoption/Correction of Board of Health Meeting Minutes (Item 3) A) Board of Health Minutes October 24, 2017 The Board of Health Minutes of October 24, 2017, having been circulated for review and there being no errors or omissions noted were declared as adopted, signed by the Chair and Clerk and affixed with the Corporate Seal. Staff Reports (Item 4) A) Acting Medical Officer of Health Update Dr. Lock, Acting Medical Officer of Health presented a health update and 1. (Wells/Brunton) THAT the health update provided by Dr. Lock be received for information.
3 B) H.S.S Part-Time Tobacco Enforcement Officer Position Michelle Lyne, Program Manager, Community Health, presented Staff Report H.S.S and 2. (Wells/Sonnenberg) THAT Staff Report H.S.S , Part-Time Tobacco Enforcement Officer Position, be received as information; AND THAT the Board of Health approve the hire of one permanent 0.5 FTE Tobacco Enforcement Officer effective December 1, 2017, utilizing provincial Smoke-Free Ontario capped funds, from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. C) H.S.S Operational Audit Recommendation #1.11 Board of Health Self-Evaluations Susan Taylor, Director, Public Health, presented Staff Report H.S.S and 3. (Columbus/Oliver) THAT Staff Report H.S.S , Operational Audit Recommendation #1.11 Board of Health Self-Evaluations, be received as information; AND THAT the Board of Health for the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit endorse the Self-Evaluation tool; AND FURTHER THAT the Board of Health members complete the Self- Evaluation and return to the Clerk by December 15, D) H.S.S Funding to Support Recruitment and Retention in Primary Care BUDGET AMENDMENT Susan Taylor, Director, Public Health, presented Staff Report H.S.S and 4. (Oliver/Wells) THAT Staff Report H.S.S , Funding to Support Recruitment and Retention in Primary Care, be received as information; AND THAT the Board of Health for the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit support
4 acceptance of the additional $12,000 in base funding currently offered by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. E) H.S.S Software Update to Enable Public Disclosure Kelsey Lutzi, Program Manager, Environmental Health, presented Staff Report H.S.S and, together with Susan Taylor, Director, Public Health, responded to questions of the Board of Health. 5. (Wells/Brunton) THAT Staff Report H.S.S , Software Update to Enable Public Disclosure, be received as information; AND THAT the Board of Health for the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit supports the request to spend existing budget dollars to upgrade Hedgehog software to enable public disclosure.
