But with fall also comes changes we can feel in our minds and bodies. To help you cope with these seasonal changes, in this issue, Dr. Reuben Chen has a 10-minute relaxing technique and the Sunrider products you must have for mindfulness and calmness. 3 Fitness Tip by Reuben K. Chen, MD Take A Breather! This 10-minute-a-day relaxing technique has 10 proven health benefits you can t miss Since breathing is something you do naturally every day, focusing on it for 10 minutes should be as easy and relaxing as it is beneficial. With the rising level of stress that comes with fall, this 10-minute exercise goes a long way. The Technique 1. Sit on a chair or couch with your back straight, your feet on the floor, and your hands on your lap. 2. Get comfortable in that position. You can close your eyes if you want to. 3. Start breathing slowly and deeply through your nose to the count of While breathing, relax your muscles and feel the release in your body as you breathe out. 5. Breathe slowly and deeply. 6. Inhale through your nose, hold your breath for a second, and feel any tightness leave as you breathe out. 7. Clear up your mind, substitute thoughts for words like calm or peace, enhancing your focus on breathing. 8. Repeat this several times. 9. When you re ready, open your eyes and bring your attention back to the room around you. 10. Stay there for another minute or two. I have a NuPlus Snack Bite recipe that will keep them smiling. Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of coconut oil 1 tablespoon of honey One big squeeze of SunnyDew ½ teaspoon of almond extract (optional) 1 ½ tablespoons of your choice of milk 1 package Alpha 20C 1 package of Quinary ½ cup of almond butter or peanut butter 1 tablespoon dark cocoa powder 1 packet of NuPlus 1 packet of VitaShake Cocoa Coconut flakes and VitaShake Cocoa for rolling Directions: Melt the coconut oil and honey together in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Add the SunnyDew, almond extract, and milk, and then the Alpha 20C and Quinary. Mix well. Add the almond butter or peanut butter with cocoa powder and mix well. Then add the VitaShake and NuPlus, and mix until you get a good consistency. Add a teaspoon of almond milk at a time as needed to mix thoroughly. Shape the mix into balls, about 6 8. Roll in coconut flakes and VitaShake. Place in refrigerator or freezer until ready to eat.
