The DementiAbility Methds ffer innvative, multidisciplinary evidence-based, nnpharmaclgical, persn-centered appraches that have been successfully used in dementia care by diverse departments and disciplines. The aim is t supprt each persn in a prepared envirnment, ffering a wide range f interventins that supprt bdy, mind, emtinal, scial and spiritual needs. The emphasis is n enriching and enhancing daily life by prviding supprts that will maintain/enhance functin while als prviding pprtunities t be engaged in life and living accrding t the needs and abilities f each persn. Research has prvided clear evidence f enhanced functin when memry cueing, sequencing and ther such strategies, have been put in place and envirnments have been set up fr success thereby expsing abilities and cmbatting excess disability that is assciated with disuse. The aim is t help each persn live with dignity and be the best he/she can be Participants in this wrkshp will learn abut imprtant cnnectins between brain, envirnments, persnal narrative and behaviur.
