FJCSC 2013 Newsletter Announcement from FJCSC Foundation Board President As President of the FJCSC Foundation Board of Directors, I would like to introduce the new Family Justice Center Sonoma County Executive Director Wes Winter. Mr. Winter is a wellknown local non profit leader with over 30 years of experience with a variety of agencies. He served as Executive Director for Circuit Rider Productions, the Sonoma County Volunteer Center, as well as North Coast Opportunities. Additionally, he served as Senior Marketing and Public Relations Director for Oakmont Senior Living. Wes has been hard at work in his first 2 months, performing outreach and developing long term sustainability plans for the Center so that victims and their families can continue to receive effective, collaborative services. Wes Winter Executive Director Family Justice Center Sonoma County The FJCSC still depends, however, on private donations to

serve victims of family violence. Your contribution directly supports the on site advocate partners who work with victims as well as the general operations of the Center. The need for FJCSC services is compelling more than 1,750 victims have been served since our doors opened in August 2011. Please consider a donation to sustain the wonderful work being done by all the partners at the FJCSC. He told her she could not report his abuse, that she could not trust the police, and that if she did report him, she

would be sent back to Mexico. Sofia has a five year old daughter from a previous abusive relationship, and an 18 month old daughter with her current abuser. Although the abuse continued and became more severe, Sofia remained afraid to go to the police to get help. Then one day she found her abuser sexually assaulting her five year old daughter. Despite her fears, she realized she must report the abuse to law enforcement. Click HERE to read more!
