The Relationship The ultimate goal of a coach-athlete relationship is to produce a combined outcome of improed performance....it goes beyond the coach-athlete relationship. The Research Preious (early) models focussed on leadership and how coaches should coach their athletes. Howeer the problem with these is that they are simply behaioural in nature...do this, do that etc. Howeer, as we hae already discussed, the relationship between you and your athlete is just as important as what you do with them! We know that the athletes behaiours, thoughts and emotions are all dependant of each other, so how do we cater for all of these needs? Thus enhancing COMMUNICATION...

Building relationships are done through deeloping Closeness, Co- Orientation and Complementarity.
