Course description This four-day program will cover data supporting guidelines, recommendations and recent advances regarding therapeutic options for patients with solid tumors and hematologic disorders. At the end of the course, physicians will leave with a comprehensive syllabus, self-assessment and deeper understanding of the pathogenesis, diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic modalities available for a breadth of solid tumors and hematologic disorders. There will be a case-based review session and discussion. The course is designed to help prepare you for certifying and/or recertifying exams. 3 Objectives Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to: Describe the pathogenesis, diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic modalities available for common malignant hematological diseases. Review the pathogenesis, diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic modalities available for common solid tumor malignancies. Integrate guideline-based treatments into clinical practice while personalizing care appropriately for the patient. Translate new therapeutic and diagnostic approaches into clinical practice, as appropriate. Intended audience The target audience for this activity will be physicians and allied health professionals with a hematology/oncology focus who desire a review and update in current standards of care for patients. The course will be helpful to those preparing for certification or re-certification.
