GETTING TO KNOW YOU Getting to know all about you Each Newsletter we will be featuring a family in CCR. We hope you enjoy learning more about our members! The Barreto Family Stefano; Laurie; David, 10; Daniel, 8; Sofia, 6; Samuel, 3. Home: West St. Paul Parish: St. Joseph When and why you came to CCR: August 2015. Stefano and Laurie heard about CCR while serving on NET. Living in Rochester, they had searched for a community for nine years and thought about moving to Virginia to rejoin one there. When someone reminded them about CCR they found community in the Twin Cities instead. Small group: David and Lisa Zimmerman group Where you are in CCR formation: second year of Christian life formation. What about CCR helps you grow in your faith: Relationships, Laurie said. Having the opportunity to serve, being surrounded by people striving for holiness, the amazing stuff you learn in formation, family forums and teachings that apply to life. And the fact that everyone is applying them to their life is encouraging. All this comes out of being in relationship with other people. Hobbies/favorite family activities: Being outdoors together and spending time with other people. Something CCR members might not know about you: For 1 ½ years the Barretos commuted from Rochester for CCR events including youth programs, formation, small group, family forums and gatherings. It s sure nice to live [in the Twin Cities] now, Laurie said.

UPDATES Hello all, as we write this note we are overwhelmed at the generosity of your thoughts and prayers over these past many months. Andy is doing very well. The chemo has been working well. A recent scan indicated that the cancer is stable. Andy went to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center this past week to see a doctor there. This doctor has given his career to research of the specific kind of cancer that he has. After doing a laparoscopy to get an in depth look the doctor recommended surgery to treat the cancer. Andrew will be having a HIPEC surgery on November 13. He will be in the hospital in Pittsburgh for about 2 weeks. It is a big surgery, and will be a long recovery. The hope is that it will result in freeing him from the cancer. Having prayed fervently for a way for healing to open up for him, we clearly see this as an answer to all the thoughts and prayers that so many have offered on Andy's behalf. Please share in our gratitude to God for this opportunity, and continue to pray for him in the weeks to come as he anticipates this surgery. Blessings, Jim and Anne Kolar An update and newsletter: Good News From Emmanuel Community in Aleppo

She was hoping for a bedroom and access to her own bathroom if possible. If interested, please call Melissa at 651-290-2530 for more info. There is an opportunity for a home to rent with Rodriguez family. Currently they have their house in South St. Paul with renters in it. They have to give them 60 days notice to have them leave, then someone else can get in there. They would love and prefer to have someone from community in there whether a family or singles. It's a great 3 bedroom house in quiet neighborhood, not more than 10 minutes from Net Center. They would be looking for $1500/month with some flexibility in that price for a Community member. Home would be available 2 months after lease signed.
