Club Services Report Allan Membership Community: Bunnings BBQ January 22 Allan will send out rosters. Allan and David doing a BBQ for the Chinese tourists similar to last year. Great opportunity to raise some funds again. Collated all the survey s and results will be shared with members in late January. A meeting will be held late January and members can discuss areas that need improvement. Richard attended the Caningerabra State School awards night. Russell Thompson attended the Burleigh State School awards ceremony. A very impressive event. The school is celebrating its 100 birthday on March 19 2017. We have had a long association with the school. International: Bren taking another load of birthing kits from Rotary Club of Tweed Heads South up to Durack today. Bren heading to East Timor January 16. Scooter Project: Puddings went missing but have been found. 48 scooters out on hire. It s that time of year where David will be requesting members to assist in the distribution of some festive cheer to our scooter recipients next week. A xmas pudding is given to all recipients and during the visit a scooter inspection is carried out to make sure all are I working order and recipients are happy. Vocational: Paul J advised that will be holding a disability awards here at the surf club in February 2017. We received grant from Councillor Pauline Young which will go towards costs for the awards night. Dates will be firmed up in coming weeks.

ITEMS OF THE DAY: Jo K looking for someone to take over the weekly bulletin and newsletter. Jo will be absent from meetings for extended period March through July. Please get in touch with Jo is you are able to assist otherwise the newsletter will not be published and available to members. Presented $1250 cheque to Riding for Disabled (see below) Guest Speaker Andy Rotary Foundation Chair for our club. Great News: Dick Smith confirmed $1,000,000 donation to Rotary End Polio Black Tie Charity Dinner Its airborne virus so it is vital to eradicate this terrible disease 3 countries still have Pakistan, Nigeria and Report: Every dollar will be matched by $2 from Bill and Melinda Gates Sold 13 tables at the moment we hope to sell 20 tables. Encourage all members to be a part of the event. 100 days until the event. Let s make history Burleigh Rotary. Heads and Tails Sam our guest was the lucky winner with heads and tails.
